AMRITA School is the primary education division of AMRITA Special School & Rehabilitation Centre, dedicated to providing a structured, safe and supportive environment where children with diverse developmental and learning needs receive education and life skill training. Our mission is to enable children to become independent as much as possible and to build awareness in society for inclusion.
AMRITA supports children who may experience challenges such as:
At AMRITA, we have a comprehensive approach. An Individualised Education Plan (IEP) is made with child-specific goals that focus on functional academics linked to daily life. We run structured, goal-oriented sessions in small-group settings (1:6 max) guided by a dedicated special educator, where children learn through shared experiences, guided interaction and peer modelling. This strengthens emotional regulation, communication, independence and resilience. Students are grouped based on chronological age, D.Q, S.Q and functional level to ensure the right pace and support.
Progress is reviewed at regular intervals, and goals are updated accordingly. Parents are treated as active partners and are also invited for periodic classroom observation and review meetings.
Therapy support (Speech, Occupational, Physiotherapy, Behaviour and Psychological support) is integrated as per requirement.
Designed to build foundational learning, communication, behaviour and social development starting from age 3 onwards.
Art & Craft, Dance & Music (for expression and confidence), Yoga( for enhancing coordination and attention span), Sports & Physical Health
For learners above age 14 who are ready to move beyond only academics, we build practical skills and work habits that are prerequisites to strengthening independence and vocational training.
For eligible learners, AMRITA provides structured support for NIOS/Open Basic Schooling pathways.
